For her - whom I grew to love, in the shortest time that was allowed for me.
Allah Saw You

Allah saw you getting restless and tired,
When a cure was not to be,
So He wrapped his arms around you,
and whispered, "Come to me".

You didn't deserve what you went through,
As you gave so much to others
So He gave you rest in His beautiful garden
That He only takes the best

And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from turning and tossing
I could not wish you back
To suffer that pain again.

For those who were left behind
When I am Gone

When I come to the end of the road,
and the sun has set for me.
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little - but not too long,
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that was once shared.
Miss me, but let me go.

Do not stand at my grave and forever weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am there when you see the rainbow.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and forever cry.
I am not there. I did not die.

For my darling, be brave.
I Understand

I will not tell you that I understand.
I will not tell you that I know.
I will not tell you that you will survive,
And how you will surely grow.
I won't come at you with answers
That can only come from you.
I will not tell you how your grief will pass,
And that you will soon be free.
I accept you in your ups and downs.
And that you need someone to share.
I will just hold your hand and let you cry
And say, "My darling, I care."
