If we are able to choose our children, like we do when we go shopping, this world will be filled with beautiful people.
I would want my sons to be masculine, with athlete build, wavy hair, smart, a sportsman, and with the etiquette of a gentleman.
I would love to have long curly hair for my girl. Cute, intelligent, with a curvy body that will look good in a two-piece swim suit, long legs that will stunt everyone who look at her. She will have the prettiest smile and the brightest eyes, with dimples on her cheek.
But that's only wishful thinking. Children are born into our world with all shapes and sizes. We can't pick and choose. We can't love them any lesser. They are our pride and joy, however they look appears to be.
My Q is tall, handsome, fair, with wavy hair, intelligent and talented. Well he is on the bigger side, not too big to be called fat. He doesn't have an athlete body, but he has a gentleman heart. He is a kind boy who never asked anything that beyond my capability. Never raise his voice when he is speaking to me, although he shows his anger on something else, but never directly to me. When that happens, I know he is upset. He has the smoothest skin that I've ever seen on a man. Every now and then, I will get kisses and hugs from him, that makes me feel wonderful. When he is sick, he never wants to go to the doctor because he knows that it would be expensive and I can't afford it. Whenever he is coming home late, he will let me know before he leaves the house. A very punctual young man. He will comes straight home from school, if he doesn't have any other plans with his band mates. He doesn't hang around with the wrong friends. He has his own set backs, everyone has. I love him the way he is. A soft spoken, kind young man. My gentle giant.
My girl is 7. She has long straight hair, dark skinned, and big for her age, chubby as they say. People always thought that she is older than she really was. Erin is a sweet girl, who likes to sing, dance and swim. She always asks me why she is not as fair skinned as her brothers, why she is fat, why is she so big, and why is her hair are not curly. I don't have any answer to all her questions, but I love her so much. As I watch her grow into a little lady, and the changes always amazed me. She is always smiling and laughing with that little giggles that she always does. Erin is a very obedient girl. Never once she shows her tantrum at me. She will laugh at everything that she thinks funny. What my little girl made of ? Sugar and Spice and everything Nice.
Whatever look or appearance my children may have, it is not my choice. But I do love them deeply. They are wonderful children, and I hope people will see them thru my eyes and not judge them by their appearance.
To Qhairul Fadzlie, Qhairiq Fadzran and Qhaireen Nurfiqah, I love you so much my darlings.
