Hari yang membawa Keinsafan

Recently I had the privilege of tolong mandikan jenazah. I have never met the Arwah and have never knew her. She was the sister in law of my good friend whom I have treated like a daughter. Inna lillahi wa inna illaihi rajiun.

The reason I am writing this article, is to remind myself how fragile our lives can be. One moment we may be laughing and singing, the next moment we could be lying on the table to be bathed by our children and it will be our last ablution, and the Pengurus Jenazah will apply our last eye-liner.

I was told that Arwah had no immediate family except for her husband and their adopted daughter. But Arwah had been suffering from illness for years and was placed in a welfare home. The funeral arrangements were done by the welfare group. Thank you for their kind generosity.

When I reached the Surau at Pusara Aman, there were less than 10 of her distant relatives around. Though half of them were women, but when the Pengurus Jenazah asked for help, no one moves. So my friend and I went to see if we could help. We were led to the Ruang Pemandian Jenazah, and as I istighfar and rolled my sleeves, I was sadden by the sight of the Arwah on the table.

Ya Allah, Ya Rahman, Ya Rahim. Kau rahmati roh ini dengan rahmat you Ya Allah. Kau berilah dia syafaat sebaik-baik syafaat, dan Kau tempatkan lah dia diantara orang orang muslim yg soleha, Ya Allah. Al Fateha khususan Ila ruhil marhumah Saleha ibni Zainab....
