Dome of Rock

Isra' Mikraj was on Monday. I told Maryam to fast for 3 days, which she did. Let's not elaborate on that, and leave it to the scholars of Islamic studies.

We have friends who went for Umrah in June and they went to Jerussalem to visit the Dome of Rock, the oldest existing Islamic monument, where Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h, ascended into Sadratul Muntaha to meet Allah. In Judaism, they believed that the site was where Nabi Ibrahim prepared to sacrifice Nabi Ishak.

According to A and his wife S, it was a sight that we should all see to believe. The rock is actually hanging in the air. The octagonal building has richly decorated walls and a gold-overlaid dome mounted about a circle of piers and columns which was built so that fanatics and extremists won't make the Dome subject of worship.
Lets digress a little from Isra' Mikraj.

There were sightings of standing rocks that we have so fortunate to witness. And these were nowhere near the Dome of Rock, in Jerussalem. These rocks stood on a slippery surface of running water, with slimey weeds. And I assure you that these were not man-made nor was in any way made possible by human technology. So, on a logical and rational mind, these sightings were not possible, but its there standing right before our very own eyes. One by one, upright. As if, it was welcoming us, made possible by hands that were unseen by normal human eyes. These are little little things that made you appreciate the miracle of Allah.

All I can say is : Allah is Great. Kun Fayakun. Apabila Dia kata jadi, maka jadilah!

And I do have pictures. But sorry, not for public eyes.
