Jumaat Yang Mulia

The long weekend was eventful. I thought that with 3 days off, I could have at least sleep in with no worries of waking up early to tend to the children's need. But lo and behold, I was wrong.

Although I managed to sleep in a little later than usual, but Friday ends up with me going to Geylang to shop, alone. It has been a long while since I've walk/shop/dine anywhere alone. So I sucked it all in. The freedom of going where I want, and do what I needed to do. There is no waiting for anyone to do their own browsing while I stood there patiently...waiting.

The 'alone' time ended up fruitful. With 3 jubahs, 3 tudungs for Erin, 2 Qurans (at last I got the one with BIG clear lettering and white background... yeah... my eye sights are failing me), 2 other kitabs basically for my own reading and a packet of beef serunding, I was a happy camper.

Came home to find Nasrool tagged home with the kids after their day out with the father to VIVoCity. So, I got guest. There goes my sleeping in.

Saturday, made mee goreng for breakfast, for the boys before they left for Qhairul performance in the afternoon. Silat supposed to start early. So, I left home at 1.00 pm with Erin, and shopped again at Jamal Kazura. What an experience. I have never entered that store and never in my entire life was I ever imagine buying such thing. He he he. Nonetheless, hopefully it will be useful, if it is not for me, maybe for others. Eriq reached Taman Warisan much earlier. But the rest of the group were late, as usual. It did not help with the heavy rain. Farid came at 4.30 pm. The silat supposed to start at 3.00 pm, because they will be performing at Maulidir Rasul in Tampines Stadium, but alas... everyone was late. Late, late, late. We have to wait for one and half hours. What a bummer.

Sunday, woke up early and went for my weekly marketing. Cooked asam pedas ikan sembilang, sayur goreng and tahu goreng for Qhairul and Nasrool. Made mee goreng to bring over to the Doa Selamat at the guru ngaji place, since she is going for her Umrah. We had nasi ambeng... nice! And she gave us a packet to bring home. And its for Mary, since I've cooked a storm at home. We reached home just in time for me to have a little nap before Maghrib.

Late in the evening, we went for ghost hunting. The children was so enthusiast. With a camera in hand, and without any torch light, we went to the abandoned buildings that was scheduled to be torn down by the government.

Those clutter of blocks were so earie. It was dark, despite the brightly lit stairways of the blocks. I was wondering why did the Town Council light the stairways of these blocks when they are unoccupied. Probably, because of the unexplained sightings, or probably to ward off druggies. Either reasons, it didn't help my feeling of awkwardness walking in that area with bunch of kids, at night. Dark and earie. As if I was brave. NOT. At one point I told the boys and my girl to 'Oit... dah..dah..dah... ada macam macam bunyi oooiii'., there were susurus on few instances. Seriously. I am known of being a 'penakut' to the unnatural being and I am not ashamed to admit of having such feelings when it comes to walking into the darkness and the unknown. But last night was fun. Nasrool was so excited, he even came up with a little drama. He and his gay hat. hahaha. Not that he is one.

I have heard stories told by few of my friends who stayed in that area before it was decommissioned, that place was haunted. Too many sightings to mentioned. And I believed them, for I knew of one who used to haunt that eerie place. And it was not WATI.

WATI was the Cik Kak which used to haunt JW Street 42, probably still is. She 'glides' the street at night. There were sightings of her, doing her rounds, from one end of Street 42 to Hong Kah Sec School. And there were sightings of 'pocong' near the big drain facing Bulim, near block 547. Unexplained. But few will vouch to the truth of their words.

Those who believes, live to believes. And those who doesn't ... as Eriq said after he heard the story of WATI... Wati pu sama lu....

Will post video of our sightings soon... and there were sightings.
