Complacent

I don't know if I have told this story before... memory lapse again... of course due to old age. But guess what? If I am old...someone else is even older... hahahaha

Anyways, I text Erin's form teacher at the wee hour yesterday, asking when is the CA going to be, since I don't receive any schedule whatsoever, and school holidays are just 2 weeks away. She replied saying that there is no CA this term because the children are involved in Group Work Project.

Phew... that was a relief. Looking at Erin's revision papers, the need to be worried is really great. But she is now in the good hands of Zizi Ezlina, Jazz's niece, who took over from the previous tutor for Maths. Zizi has just completed her Poly with honours. She was the Valedictorian and delivered the valedictory in her graduation ceremony. She is starting her University tomorrow. Hopefully in a few years she will graduate with First Class Honors just like her cousin, Insya Allah. Erin is excellent in her English, but Mathematics... that is another story, but don't we all... figures were never my forte anyway.

Talking about which, I remember one incident that happened 2 years ago. Jazz and I went to her school for a performance. The children supposed to perform for the parents and show their talents. It was all well and dandy and we really enjoyed ourselves watching the children performed in their choreographed dancing and singing numbers, and eating swiss rolls later.

But before the performance starts, being children of 7 years old, we don't expect them to keep still do we? All 40 of them. Anywho.... the more the Teacher asked them to behave the rowdier they became. Until one point in time the teacher has had enough and said :

"You all are very complacent!"

I looked at Jazz, and Jazz returned the same look at me. ...Okaaaay... That's weird.

And she continued:

"You know what complacent means? It means that you all complaints a lot!"

I have tried with all my might to control my laughter, but it escaped from the side of my mouth... wakakaka... sorry cher.

But that was not the end of the story...

As we were leaving, and thanking the Teacher for the excellent performance and shaking her hands for a job well done, in the midst of the goodbyes and thanks, she said this to Jazz :

"Thank you for your coming"

Wha????

I looked at Jazz with a quizzical look... Jazz replied with "Honest Ma! I've never seen her before this!"

And my daughter's education was in her hands...

Thank God she has a much much much better teacher this year!

Yes, teachers make mistakes too... sometimes stupid mistakes...
