I have always trust the systems. The system works for me, especially that of the government's. With all these paybacks that the governments are throwing at us thru NSS, GST rebates, GST Offset, Workforce Income Scheme and what not, I was more than happy to receive cash from the people who rule the country. I especially like the Finance Minister when the Budget 2007 was read in the parliament. I have never questioned their decisions, nor do I take notice of anyone who gets more payout than myself.
Until yesterday.
One Chinese man, whom I am not fancy about, not at all, asked if I have bank in my GST offset. Why is my money a concern to you? But in a way, it made me want to clear my letter box. In it I saw the letter from CPF, for the GST Offset. I was most elated, no doubt. But as I read the content, I was very much disappointed with my eligibility. What??? Why am I only entitled to such a small amount. Okay, let's face it. Of course I am so so so so thankful for the rezeqi. But... that amount is absurd! Jazz, being who he is, received greater amount. That is so not fair
I made a call yesterday morning to the department of GST Offset only to find out that actually I earned more than $100,000 per annum. That's what the record in 'their' system said. How come I was not aware of such money? I am rich ! I am rich !.... A BIG 'F' U to the bank, please excuse my French. Where the heck has all my money gone??
I asked the officer to check again, probably my employer wants to surprise me, and pays my monthly salary as what we have agreed, and will only declare the $S100K when I am at the most unexpected moment. Thanks Boss... you are the best.
Until very early this morning.
That is when Jazz called me up for the daily wake-up call. He said that last night whilst he was nursing his nightly insomnia, he was multi tasking on the computer and listened to the radio at the same time, when listeners called in to the station and said that they too earned S$100K. That is what the record in the government system stated, although they have not been employed for couple of years due to retrenchment and so forth. The only income they had is from TonTin money (senoman).
Am I having a nightmare ??? That was such a freaking wake up call.
There goes my dreams… Basket ball betul laah.
For that... I have to tell you "Doolittle" was voted out from the American Idol.
How's that for a wake up call ! hehehe... sorry darling.
