Sunday was the first day of Ramadhan. I was as tired as ever, having to wake up in the wee hour of the morning to have our sahur. By the time I hit the bed again it was almost 5.30 am. But it was nice to hear Jazz's voice at the other end of the line to wish me Ramadhan Mubarak, and knowing that he loves me, give me greater strength than I ever was before.
With Erin in tow, I went to Tekka Market to get brains and kidneys (sheep's, of course), as Mariam has promised to cook brain and kidney dish for us. Can't wait for her to get off work on Wednesday! The market wasn't that crowded, which was a surprise actually, knowing that Sunday is the day where the Bangladeshi workers flock to Little India for their weekly pilgrimage.
After taking the brains and kidneys back to Jazz and Mariam's, we went home. The day was late, and I have to get dinner ready. Made fish head curry and ribs soup for Erin, we packed up and headed for Mum's, just in time for our first day break-fast with the family.
Mamat was down with high fever with a weak right arm. I wish him a speedy recovery as he works too hard.
