The evening started with a ride on a Merc cab to the top of Mount Faber. Fortunately the weather was on our side, and the sunset was brilliant, it was such a warm welcome on top of one of the highest points in Singapore.
Jazz was delighted, and I can see thru his eyes that he was surprised. We had orange juice while enjoying the sunset. It was so picturesque. As the sun went down and the light grew darker, I can still see the twinkle in Jazz's eyes. I wasn't quite comfortable, as I was anxious to get him to dinner. What I should do was, to enjoy the scenery with him, instead of just sitting there on the sofa, and sipping on the orange juice. But I was nervous, the dress I was wearing was too revealing and I had to make sure that the shawl covers me well and I was afraid that Jazz won't agree with the venue of the dinner.
After the drinks, we walked towards the Cable Car station and as we past the ticket counter, Jazz asked if we should take a cable car ride, and on that instance I knew that everything would be okay.
Just as the Mount Faber staff got the cabin ready for us, we stepped into the Cable Car 66 which has been converted into a dining booth for us. Sky-Dinning, having our dinner while riding the cable car. In the clear evening, it was a ride that I will not forget. The breeze was wonderful, the air smelled of the ocean, and we were on top of the world!
Imagine, having dinner on a moving cable car, high above everything else, and only the two of us in the cabin. Just perfect!
It took us three round trips to end the dinner, which was superb. The tomato soup was good, the chicken was tender, the fish was crisp, the apple strudel and strawberry were delightful.
We adjourned to Faber Rock for coffee, while the staff lighted Jazz's birthday cake. Being as Jazz as he could be, he made his wish standing on a chair, while the rest of the diners looked at us with a weird look on their faces.
It was a lovely evening, Nat King Cole singing on the background, while we sipped our coffee and telling each other how happy we are.
In the dim light of the night, I saw Jazz's face aglow. How this man came into my life, and into my heart, with such tender loving care, I am thanking God each day for the gift so wonderful.
It may be Jazz's birthday, but I've got the greatest gift of all... My Jazz, My Love, My Life. - My Jazz-me-Jazz, feeling alright.
